Multi Camera Tracking (MCT)
MCT integration is not part of the initial release. Zone notifications that MCT would enhance are available from the first deployment using a fallback approach through CBS.
MCT tracks the physical movement of individuals across multiple cameras in real time using body detection rather than face recognition. While CIGS groups face detections into anonymous identities, MCT tracks where a person physically is and how they move — their trajectory, zone transitions, and crossing events.
MCT is developed and maintained by the Innovatrics Platforms team — it is not a BCSC product. For full documentation, refer to the MCT documentation in Platform Docs.
Role in BCSC
MCT feeds directly into CBS, which uses it as the primary source for zone entry/exit events, person count changes, and movement updates when MCT is available. Deployments without MCT fall back to VPP and CIGS data for these signals — the topic names and event structures are identical either way, so integrators require no changes when MCT is introduced.
