Identity Proofing
Some countries require businesses to keep a proof of the automatic ID verification to be audited by a human.
There is a standard ETSI TS 119 461 defining the proofing for identity verification systems. In short, it defines following requirements:
- A human must be capable to confirm the same decision as the automatic process
- Video of the identity verification process must be stored to proof the identity
- Transfer of the proof video must be secured from manipulation
Video Proofing in the Autocapture Components
Capture components in mobile libraries (Face, Face Lite, Document) offer the option to record a video of the autocapture process. The recording is done in parallel and has no effect on autocapture process. Maximum 8 seconds from the end of the video are recorded with a target bitrate of 1 Mbit/s. Resulting video has a file size around 1 MB, on some devices it could be larger if target bitrate is not supported.
Secure Transfer to the Server
The feature uses the Video Injection Prevention and packs the video into the binary data with face or document photo to prevent manipulation of the video. The Digital Identity Service (DIS) needs to be used to extract the video on the server (the feature must be turned on in the settings).
